Increasing ACCO delivery of Out of Home Care (OOHC) services
20 December 2021 / in Regional Pulse
The Department of Communities has recently released a Commissioning Plan and Procurement Pipeline, which details how they will buy services from the non-government sector to 2024 -25.
The initial focus is on four priority areas: Out of Home Care, Family and Domestic Violence, Homelessness and Child Sexual Abuse Therapeutic Services. Out years will include other services such as financial counselling and community connectors.
The Department has signalled an increased focus on ACCO-led service delivery in these areas but at this stage does not appear to have developed a structured approach to supporting a staged transition from existing contract-holders to ACCOs. As a first step, the Department intends to identify ACCOs with an interest in delivering services in Out of Home Care (OOHC) through an open expression of interest process.
To help you consider opportunities and strategic partnerships in OOHC, BBY will host an introductory session on Tuesday 18 January at 9.30am. Stay tuned for more details.
